NY Fashion Week

Whew! Fashion week kicked off on 9/10/2009 with Fashion's Night Out. The Festivities were amazing! I was invited to DEX - A fabulous, midtown, celebrity salon complete with photography studio and lash bar. There was complimentary makeup applications, hair styling, color consultations, and manicures featuring M2M nails. In addition to pampering their guest with amazing high end products and the creme de la cream of estheticians. There was amazing music, people and food, the spa party poured out into the streets . I could smell in the air that Fashion Week had begun and this would be a good one! After having services rendered I rushed
to the Meat Packing Distric to the Helmut Lang Boutique. They were having thier Fashion's Night Out Party; upon entry I first noticed beautiful leather skins across the cash wrap which coincided with the finished products adorned along the wall amazing motorcycle jackets, these jackets were special the leather had a delicate wash and a matte finish the leather... butter soft. I fell in love with a pair white leather skinny leg jeans with a delicate elastic waist band. My eyes danced across the room at the faboulous collection and people. I absorbed the ambiance of the this was a sucessful event full of fun and flair. However I did also noticed that I'd arrived too
late to grab up a Fashion's Night Out T-shirt which are sold exclusively for for Charity and can only be bought on this night from participating establishments it which was unfortunate but, nevertheless a I had a blast! A few blocks away I fell into the Christian Louboutin Boutique
where they were having their own festivities. As I waited for room in the small boutique behind velvet ropes we were entertained by window performers. A woman and man who seemed to be acting out a romantic glass slipper skit, carrying on laughing and dancing about in their Christian Loubotin footwear. We somehow convinced these to exhibitionist to serve each other champagne from Louboutin pump. They were such sports! When he turned that red bottom up and returned it empty we all cheered the he fed her a shoe fill as well. Soon after we were inside the crowded boutique which was tinted red (go figure)shoes everywhere some amazing new pieces. Fall 2010 is gonna be the best.!I cant wait!!! Next we skated over to the Gansevoort Hotel and up to the Penthouse bar Plunge where Theory was having an after party. The crowd the music the people were amazing Fashion Mogul Russell Simmons even came though and partied... the rooftop was rocking! Just think all of this in one night.... the life of a Fashionista ...
On Saturday I attended an event given by the Garner Public Relations. an invite to a Shoe Party given by an uptown Boutique called Bourgeoisie; dress coded simply stated "Classy and Well Heeled " I immediately slipped into my Ariella Louboutin booties and my friend into her patent Chanel two toned pumps and made our way to the Hotel Royal's Penthouse we checked in with the hostess and was immediately directed to this amazing space filled with props and shoe displays.
Celebrity Guest Eve Marcelle Chrisette Michelle and models Cocoa and Melyssa Ford. Every other person was in media or entertainment in some capacity great networking opportunities of course I seized the moment There was no short on great music food or drinks everything was in abundance and the view from the balcony dim lighting and fire places made this a very intimate and fabulous event; kudos to the Garner Group on a successful event.

I closed fashion week by going to the encore Philip Lim Show hosted by Andre Leon Tally. Amazing show! Philip Lim's line is all about the everyday woman chic, classic, stylish and wearble. Unfortunately their was some fashion road kill one young lady hit the pavement @ leat 4 times. I did empathize as a former dresser at runway shows it is a possibility that her shoes were 2 sizes 2 small lol ... can't wait for Spring/Summer in February 2010. byl ...
